In light of the directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, may God support him, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has adopted its four national priorities for the research, development, and innovation sector. These are: human health, environmental sustainability and basic needs, leadership in energy and industry, and future economies. These priorities are based on the Kingdom’s competitive advantages and its commitment to addressing the most pressing challenges facing humanity and ensuring the future of coming generations. They serve as a compass to guide all future projects and efforts in the research sector.
Scientific research and innovation at the University are among the fundamental pillars of its modern vision. They are also key drivers in contributing to the growth of the knowledge-based economy, in alignment with the Kingdom's Vision and the Ministry's focus on research and innovation. In this context, His Excellency the President of the University has issued a directive to update the University’s research priorities and to develop scientific research plans and programs, directing them toward fields involving modern technologies in logistics services, renewable energy, Hajj and Umrah, and defense.
